Why did you become a seminarian?
Growing up, I had never really thought about the priesthood, although I went to Mass regularly with my family. In college, I started to develop a consistent prayer life and a genuine love of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist. I went on a few discernment retreats during that time but still never felt a call to consider a vocation other than married life. About a year after graduation, I sensed a strong invitation from Jesus during adoration to consider the priesthood. Even though I was reluctant at first, I eventually realized through prayer and talking with others that I could not discern God’s invitation any further without going to seminary.
Before you entered the seminary, what were you doing?
I was a professional musician, playing in several different bands and giving lessons on guitar, drums, and ukulele.
An interesting fact about you
I have an identical twin brother and was the first band director at
St. Jude Catholic School.
