Why did you become a seminarian?
I became a seminarian because I believe the Lord wants me to become His priest. After deepening my faith in college, I had done just about as much discerning as one man can do outside of the seminary. I tried running from and avoiding the Lord’s call, but I never found peace in running away from Him. Eventually, I gave up and prayed the prayer Jesus prayed in the garden: “Not my will but Thine be done.” It’s a prayer I pray everyday.
Before you entered the seminary, what were you doing?
Before I entered seminary, I studied history and philosophy at the University of Illinois and served as an RA at the Newman Center on campus. I also worked at a meat market.
An interesting fact about you:
I completed a Tough Mudder in Indiana on November 20th,
when it was 40 degrees outside, and I was carried across
the finish line half-conscious.
