Why did you become a seminarian?

I felt the Lord calling me to more, to experience His Love in a much deeper and more intimate way. The call to the priesthood started in the fifth grade where I had really great relationships with the Franciscan Friars and they showed me what it meant to be a priest for the people. As I continued to serve in high school and college, I met more priests who had a real love for the Eucharist and in bringing the love Christ has to others. During senior year of college, I focused on my prayer life and my personal relationship with God. The Lord tends to speak in the quiet whispers and in the silence. It was through creating this space that I felt the call to the priesthood resurface and reignite in my heart and I knew it was time for me to enter seminary and give the Lord space to work in my heart.

Before you entered the seminary, what were you doing?

Before I entered seminary, I had graduated from Illinois State University with a degree in agriculture in May 2020.

An interesting fact about you

My dad and I are section-hiking the Appalachian Trail. We are trying to get from Georgia to Maine, all 2,190 miles!
