John & Diane McShane explain their reaction to their son, Danny’s, decision to enter seminary and how their concerns have been resolved.

Bishop Louis Tylka and Peoria Vocations invite you to join a pilgrimage to France. Traveling to France to pray for an increase of holy, healthy, and happy priestly vocations in the Diocese of Peoria.

We invite you to pray and petition our heroic patrons, St. John Vianney and St. Therese of Lisieux. We will spend time in Ars, home of St. John Vianney -the patron of parish priests - where we will offer our thanksgiving for the great priests with whom our Diocese has been blessed. We will then travel through the countryside of France to Lisieux to visit the mortal remains of St. Therese - Peoria’s patroness of priestly vocations. We will visit the tomb of her parents, Saints Zelie and Louis Martin - patron saints of married couples. There we will ask St. Therese for her intercession for all current and former seminarians, humbly asking for an increase to priestly vocations for the Diocese of Peoria. We will also beseech her parents for holy marriages in our diocese and the Bishop will give a blessing to all married couples in the presence of these patrons. Our time in prayer will be enhanced by cultural excursions, great meals, and personal exploration. Our itinerary includes a day at Normandy beach - the site of the D-Day invasions- and three days in Paris, the City of Lights.

At each location you will be provided Mass, daily prayer, and spiritual reflections, while spending time with Bishop Lou, our vocation directors, and other lay faithful. Join our pilgrimage to pray for an increase of priestly vocations, and to experience the faith, fraternity, and the richness of France.
